Sinema tarihine baktığımızda birçok yönetmen filmlerinde aynı oyuncular ile çalışmayı tercih etmiştir.Yönetmenleri ile ayrılmaz ikili oluşturma rekoruna sahip oyuncularda mevcuttur.Bir film çekilmeden önce şüphesiz ilk önce oyuncular seçilir.Filmin türüne göre pek çok kriterler göz önünde bulunulur.Fakat bazı yönetmenlerin birlikte harikalar yarattığı için bırakmadığı oyuncular vardır.Buna yönetmenin oyuncu ile arasında ki bağıda etki etmiş olabilir veya yönetmenin takıntısıda olabilir.
